Ranch Beans

Beans are an excellent source of fiber. A half-cup serving of typical canned or home made baked beans contains 7 grams of fiber!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1-3/4 cup canned vegetarian beans
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons molasses
1/2 teaspoon dried onion

Directions:

  1. Conventional Method: Place all ingredients in saucepan and heat thoroughly, about 10 minutes.
  2. Microwave Method:Place all ingredients in microwave-safe bowl. Cover with waxed paper. Cook on high; stirring every 2 minutes; cook about 5 minutes.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 to 10 minutes

4 Servings, about 1-cup each
