Round Steak Casserole

The E. coli bacterium that may cause illness or even death normally resides only on the surface of meats. Steaks or roasts grilled on both sides normally will kill any bacteria. Hamburger is another story since when it is ground the outside becomes the inside and a higher temperature is needed to cook the inside of the meat thoroughly. Source: Meat Food Facts

Ingredients:
2 pounds, cut 1/2 inch thick round steak
Garlic salt, salt, pepper
1 thinly sliced onion
3 to 4 peeled and quartered potatoes (optional)
1 can drained French-style green beans
1 can (10 ounce) tomato soup
1 can (16 ounces) peeled and whole tomatoes

Directions:

Season round steak lightly with garlic salt, salt and pepper.

Cut into serving pieces and place in crock pot with sliced onion, which has been separated into rings.

Add potatoes and green beans. Top with tomato soup and tomatoes.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Remove cover during last half-hour if too liquid.

Note: To cook in 2-quart crock pot, reduce ingredients slightly.
